On the other hand, the opening T20 match between India and Sri Lanka didn’t get off to a perfect start at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Rain played spoilsport, delaying the match from the start and eventually cancelling the game. Though the ground staff put in all their efforts to dry the ground, yet the downpour increased with time.
But, the capacity crowd in Guwahati made a stunning environment in the stadium by singing the Indian national song ‘Vande Mataram’ in complete synchronisation and full voice. Also, the fans turned on their phone’s flashlight to make the ground more compelling.
Sharing the video on their social media platform, BCCI captioned it as, “Guwahati, you beauty 😍 #INDvSL”.
