And Team Europe lifts the Laver Cup!
Germany’s Alexander Zverev won the final match for the team, defeating Canada’s Milos Raonic 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 in Geneva, Switzerland. This win made the home team complete a successful title defence. Team Europe defeated Team World 13-11 after three exciting days of play and has won the crown in all three years of the competition.
Team Europe consisted of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Fabio Fognini and Roberto Bautista Agut.
Swiss tennis player, Federer posted an emotional message on Instagram, writing, “It was a dream of mine to play the Laver Cup in Switzerland. The fans, the city, and the atmosphere was electric. It’s moments like these that continue to make the game so enjoyable for me. It was a magical moment in my career. 🙌🇪🇺🏆🇨🇭
