Two of the greatest tennis players, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, are going to face each other in Wimbledon Semi-finals, this Friday. This is the second time, since 2008, the most celebrated rivals are going to meet in Wimbledon. Friday’s match will be a fortieth meeting of Federer and Nadal.
Federer, 37, entered the semi-finals of Wimbledon, defeating Kei Nishikori, yesterday. Swiss legend is the first man to reach century at a single major. He is currently ranked world number 3 in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
Nadal, who hails from Spain, is World number 2 in men’s singles, and the only player to win against Federer in the final of a Grand Slam on all three surfaces (grass, hard and clay).
Roger and Nadal have been playing each other since 2004, and their rivalry is a significant part of their careers. The duel between Rafa and Federer is a dream come true for all the tennis fans. #fedal is going viral over the social media ever since the clash of the two iconic players has been declared.
