A 46 year-old African American man, George Floyd died after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by a police officer’s knee. His death has incited large protests in Minneapolis as well in other parts of the USA.
Condemning this, former Vice President Joe Biden tweeted about it and stated that George Floyd’s life mattered as much as anyone else’s. Talking to the governor of Pennsylvania, Joe compared Floyd’s death similar to Eric Garner’s death in 2014.
The Democratic Presidential nominee called this tragic incident as a part of the injustice that still exists in the States. Biden is glad that the Minneapolis Mayor stepped up right away and fired the four officers involved in the arrest. Joe has also emphasized the state to take a more strict action.
Concluding his talk, Joe Biden has requested for the justice of George Floyd and his family. Along with it, he wants the nation to work relentlessly to eradicate such systemic failures and incidents in the near future.
