The founder of multinational tech company, Amazon, Jeff Bezos is stepping down from the CEO role of the company and his position will be acquired by Andy Jassy who is currently the CEO of Amazon Web Services.
The announcement regarding the transition of the Executive role came on Tuesday night where the company along with releasing its financial result of the fourth quarter of year 2020 also stated: “Amazon is also announcing today that Jeff Bezos will transition to the role of Executive Chair in the third quarter of 2021 and Andy Jassy will become Chief Executive Officer at that time.”

Post the announcement, Jeff Bezos also sent a mail for his fellow Amazonians wherein he talked about his new role by stating: “In the Exec Chair role, I intend to focus my energies and attention on new products and early initiatives. Andy is well known inside the company and has been at Amazon almost as long as I have.” and praised Andy Jassy for his commitment toward the company’s growth.

The Alphabet CEO, Sundar Pichai also came forward to send his best wishes to the forthcoming CEO as well as Jeff Bezos on their new endeavour.
