If comfort is the first name in festive fashion this season, designer Ridhi Mehra overdelivers on the promise. Blurring the lines between Indian Wear and streetwear, designer Ridhi Mehra’s latest collection is an amalgamation of whimsical prints and effortless silhouettes. Breaking away from the couture-like extravance this collection fits right into comfortwear ticking on how we reimagine festive looks. With easy fit kurtas and co-ord sets that are modern, minimal and feminine, Delhi-based designer’s new pret line is a step to make the occasion wear mainstream and accessible to many others who are admirers of the brand.
The collection spans primary colours that are red, green and blue which are the few striking hues chosen for the solids along with the magnificent fuchsia – a colour palette that’s inherently vibrant, animated and pops up any dull day.
The designer shares, “This project has been a pleasure because it allowed us to take a renewed approach to our aesthetic and take it a notch higher. The past few years have been a stepping stone for us to branch into pret and it surely is a great opportunity to be a part of a revolution in the fashion universe, letting us combine our signature with a hint of new-age inspiration
The collection, titled Wildflower, is translated through multicoloured paisley and floral prints in the ensembles. Crafted in pure silk and chanderi fabrics, it’s luxe, understated glam with silhouettes and cuts making way to restyling looks in myriad ways. The versatility of the cuts, makes it perfect for a casual evening soiree to an extravagant big fat Indian wedding.
