The major night in small screen finally took place. The 2018 Emmy Awards had formally completed and the small screen’s A-listers were clothed to the nines and chafing shoulders with their favourite co-stars at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost.
It was a huge night for British talent – with Thandie Newton, Claire Foy, and Matthew Rhys among the winners. It was the first time in almost 20 years that HBO didn’t dominate the Primetime Emmy Awards. The cable channel and Netflix tied for 23 awards each.

Apart from the star-studded award function, there were special moments on the Emmy Awards 2018. Some of the instances are:
- In a mostly starry night at the Emmys, Glenn Weiss delivered a moment that left most of those in audience slack-jawed and applauding. He proposed to his girlfriend, Jan Svendsen, on live television after winning an Emmy.
- Henry Winkler deserved the biggest thumbs up of all on that night. More than 40 years after his first Emmy choice, he finally took home a statuette. ‘Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god!’ said the delighted Mr Winkler, 72, who’d leapt onto the stage to accept his award for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series, bringing the audience to its feet. He played Gene Cousineau on HBO’s dark comedy ‘Barry.’
