Just five days ahead of the release of ‘Bulbbul’ movie, the trailer has been dropped, giving an insight into what the audience will be served with.
A venture of Anushka Sharma’s production, ‘Bulbbul’ is an exploration of the horror genre with a storyline set in 19 century Bengal. And the moment Bengal’s name pops up on the story, the tales of black magic and witchcraft start surfacing in the mind. And living up to our imaginations, the filmmakers have brought an eerie traverse of an innocent girl to a strong woman, loomed over by mystical energies.
The trailer shows the child marriage, which was frequent in early eras, of a young girl to a grown man, who is the brother of Sathya. Post which the bride’s transformation comes into notice as she still stays fascinated with her childhood friend Sathya.
Showcasing how each character is hiding a secret in their eyes, the trailer is full of mysteries and thrill with shudder-worthy scenes set in a dark background.
Written and directed by Avnita Dutt, this supernatural period drama brings the local haunting bed-time stories of India, focusing on a child bride whose character stays puzzling throughout the trailer run.
With a star cast of Rahul Bose, Tripti Dimri, Aniash Tiwari and more, the movie will start streaming online on Netflix from 24 June.
