1. Bhangarh Fort – Rajasthan
The ghost town of Bhangarh is not only one of the scariest, spookiest places you could possibly imagine, but one of the most haunted places in India.
With restricted entry to the fort before sunrise and after sunset by the government, this town is luring visitors even though there is a strict warning about how dangerous this place is.
The backstory behind the town is that a dark magician fell in love with the town’s princess and tried to cast a spell on her. On denial, the princess crushed the magician under a stone boulder. Before dying, he cursed the entire town and since then the town has become a haunted spot.
However, once the night falls and the darkness takes over, this place becomes deserted, leaving it prey to the supernatural.
2. Dumas Beach – Near Surat
Known for its black sand and mystical activities, Dumas beach is popular for many puzzling and unexplainable incidents to occur like strange whispers being heard or people disappearing at night.
If you are a brave heart, you can test the waters yourself by taking a midnight stroll along the beach with warnings asking you to not cross a certain line.
Before, the beach was used as a Hindu burial ground, the resting place of tortured souls. If you love visiting haunted places and want to feel the spookiness, this is your spot!
3. Dow Hill – Darjeeling
Not a very sought after place but definitely one of the most haunted places in India. Located in Kurseong, the boarding school is the centre of paranormal activities, with many ghost sightings.
With a stretch called the ‘death road’, people have seen a headless boy who suddenly appears and then disappears into the forests. Once you see him, he will not spare you in dreams too. People have committed suicide because they were depressed of being followed everywhere.
The entire place has an eerie and uncanny feeling.
