Bengaluru’s Herohalli saw a ‘never-before-seen’ sight, surprising the pedestrians at night. Actually, it was the new artwork of a street artist and civic activist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, who wanted to highlight the plight of the potholed roads.
Nanjundaswamy posted a video on his Twitter, where an astronaut is walking on a potholed road in Bengaluru that resembles craters on the moon.

Nanjundaswamy wanted to create a canvas out of this civic issue to attract the attention of the government officials. He roped in actor Pooranchand Mysore, who became an astronaut walking on the crater-laden roads.
The video became viral and an instant hit on Twitter, with comments attacking the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Coincidentally, the clip is out just days before Chandrayaan 2 is close to its soft-landing near the moon’s South Pole.
Previously, Nanjundaswamy had used his creativity to attract the attention of BBMP towards the city’s infrastructure. For road maintenance, he has painted funny but relatable figures and characters around potholes.
