Two of the Bollywood biggies with a Hollywood connection seems to have been bitten by the book bug. First news broke about music maestro AR Rahman coming up with an authorised biography, and now Quantico girl, Priyanka Chopra is following his path.
The ABC star is penning a personalised account of the various issues and aspects of her life’s journey in a memoir titled Unfinished. She has signed up with Penguin Random House India for the book. Rahman also shares the same publisher.
Manasi Subramaniam, the Senior Commissioning Editor for the publishing house, says, Unfinished by Priyanka Chopra is not just a memoir but a manifesto for women who believe that they can’t just have it all but that they deserve it all. Priyanka is one of the most influential women in the world, and it is not a badge she wears lightly. I love how unapologetic she is about her success and her ambition. There’s something about the Priyanka Chopra phenomenon that feels both revolutionary and accessible, and that’s entirely a result of the person that she is.’
Meru Gokhale, the Editor-In -chief, reveals that she first met Priyanka when she delivered the Penguin annual lecture in Delhi in 2017 and was impressed by the star actor’s ability to inspire young women. They were keen to add Priyanka, a strong female role-model whose words would inspire a generation of young women.
Unfinished will be published in 2019
