Priyanka Chopra lauded the Kamala Harris’ Vogue cover, ‘A woman of colour! An Indian woman!’
On Instagram, the global actor shared the cover picture of the newly elected US Vice President and is proud that Kamala will soon walk into the White House as the Madam Vice President. Along with the stunning yet powerful picture of Kamala Harris in a powder blue pantsuit, Priyanka Chopra attached an open letter to it.
Talking about the US Capitol violence which took place earlier last week, Priyanka Chopra stated that within a span of ‘just 10 days America will be inherited by such a positive example of leadership’. Expressing happiness over Kamala Harris having Indian roots and being a woman of colour, she went on to write, “A WOMAN! A WOMAN OF COLOR! AN INDIAN WOMAN! A BLACK WOMAN! A WOMAN WHOSE PARENTS WERE BORN OUTSIDE THE US!”
Concluding her caption on a special note, Priyanka Chopra went on to write, “And could there be anything more special, as the VP Elect put it, than the fact that little girls will only know a world where a woman is the Vice President of the US. Coming from India, a country (like many others around the world) that has had several female leaders, it’s hard to believe that this is the US’ first! But it surely won’t be the last!”
