The Pug is an amazing and cutest breed. Wherever he goes, his wrinkled face and fun-loving personality charm people. Nothing makes him happier than being part of the family, often following someone from room to room. Don’t let his worried, wrinkled little face fool you. The Pug is laughing inside. He’s laughing at you, with you and he’s also trying to make you laugh. They live for fun. If you own a pug, you’re the happiest person on earth. But, owning a pug come with some challenges. There are several aspects about the pug that require special attention and care.
1. Perform grooming on time
Following a regular routine will keep your pug looking well-groomed.
Brushing: All the ones who own a pug, must be aware that this dog breed sheds the copious amount of hair. So, even if you don’t notice, it’s important to brush your pug on a regular basis. Little puppies can be brushed once a week but adult Pugs should be brushed as often as once per day. Brush from his head to tail using a brush or shedding comb.
Bathing: Your Pug generally doesn’t need a bath more frequently than every 10 to 12 weeks. But, even if your pug doesn’t appear to be dirty, you should still bathe him to prevent bad odors, and to keep skin properly moisturized. Pugs are prone to skin infections, so it’s better to keep your little one clean.
Eye and Wrinkle maintenance: Pugs have big eyes but are vulnerable to injury and irritants. Keep the eye clean by wiping it as often as after each meal. Talking about wrinkles, you may not be taking extra care of it. Wipe the wrinkles at least once a day by opening each fold and wiping it with a grooming wipe. Your pug’s nails also grow pretty fast and it needs to be clipped regularly as frequently as every two weeks.
2. Feeding Right
A healthy diet is key to a healthy pug. You just can’t avoid that cute little puppy face when you are having your own delicious meal. Your dog may be bored of eating the same food daily, but with so many choices and restrictions, you become helpless. But here you can find some good choices to feed your little dog. Puppies should be fed 3 times per day while an adult pug should be 1-2 times per day depending on the activity level and comfort of the pug. Pugs can be given meat (lean Hamburg, fish, liver and organs, chicken breast), brown rice, peas, green beans, oatmeal, vegetables (including sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, spinach), fruits (like apple, blueberry, strawberry, melon, pumpkin, cranberry and banana) and other healthy ingredients including yogurt, cheese and peanut butter. And these should be dry, not moist. Also, pugs need to drink 1.5 to 2 ounces of filtered water. Here, are some best food for pugs.

3. Don’t Skip The Vet
Visits to the vet are not just for injuries or illness. The vet will perform full physical examination of your pug to examine his health and wellness. The veterinarian will also discuss your pug’s diet and exercise routine. Your pug will need booster shots when he is a year old. Your vet will recommend what type of vaccines should be given and when they should be given. There are vaccinations which are done every year while there are those which can be done every two years and so. And also you have the opportunity to ask any questions.
