Hima Das won her fourth gold in the 200m race in the Tabor Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, in a span of 15 days. She won in a credible time of 23.25 seconds, inching closer to her personal best of 23.10 seconds. The 19-year-old athletic, ran her first competitive race in Europe on 02 July, and has been improving since then. Her pet event is 400m, and she is yet to qualify for the World Championships in it, and the 200m.
At Kladno, Czech Republic, Muhammad Anas bettered his own 400m national record to win a gold and qualify for the World Championships by clocking 45.21 seconds, on Wednesday.
Anish Bhanwala shot his way to the second Junior World Cup gold, on Wednesday, in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol, at a solid 584 to top the charts, in Suhl, Germany. In the final, he led from the front and did not shoot below three hits out of five in each of the 10 series of shots.
Deepika Kumari brought cheer to the Indian camp after winning a silver in the Tokyo Olympic test event in Yumenoshoshima Park, Tokyo, yesterday. The former world No. 1 was in form and dominated the women’s recurve event, but lost to 18-year-old Korean An San 0-6 in the final.
