The hit teen drama series Gossip Girl is on its way back to the small screen after eight long years. The CW drama is about wealthy teenagers behaving badly in New York City, initially aired from 2007 to 2012.
Now, it will follow the lives of Manhattan’s richest kids who are introduced to the Gossip Girl’s watchful eye. A 10-episode reboot of the much-loved series will be showcased on HBO Max, a brand new streaming destination that will be launched next year.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Joshua Safran, the writer and executive producer of the original show will be spearheading the new series, while Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the original creators have been signed as the executive producers.
The show wouldn’t have been where it is today, if it wasn’t for its iconic characters like Blair Chuck or Serena. However, there is no word on whether any of the original cast will be involved in the reboot.
Let’s hope that it’s worth all the hype!
