Music’s biggest stars were all under one roof at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday night for America’s biggest music award function- American Music Awards. Brightening up the eve with glamour, glitz and performances (Swift, Cardi B, Post Malone, Camila Cabello were among the performers), the stars did not leave any chance to make American Music awards 2018 a memorable affair.
Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the American Music Awards, where fans voted for the winners. The show aired Tuesday on ABC from LA. One of the main highlights of the event was Taylor Swift, who just wrapped the North American leg of her “Reputation” tour, kicked off the show with her single, “I Did Something Bad.” It was Swift’s first live awards show performance in three years. She also made history by snagging the artist of the year award, making Swift the most awarded artist in American Music Awards history.
And our personal favourite Realness Moment was when the favourite rap/hip-hop artist award went to Cardi B, who hit the stage in a Carmen Miranda-inspired dress to chants of her name. She said, ‘I just want to thank my daughter, not just because she’s my daughter,’ but because her daughter inspired her to prove everyone wrong, adding, ‘They said I wasn’t going to make it after I had a baby!’
