Dressed in a sleeveless tank, with casual denim shorts, sporting a little stubble, Varun Dhawan, opened his lavish home for all his fans to see in recent YouTube video.
Varun Dhawan, still riding high on the recent success of October, gave a peek into the interiors of his new bachelor pad, located in Khar, Mumbai to film journalist Rajeev Masand. The experience begins with a lobby area, which is decorated with contemporary luxurious couches and chairs. The lobby, is a mix of traditional and modern with an edgy touch to it. With muted walls and humble colours in decor, the living room exudes a elegant feel with the embroidered patterns paired with edgy patterns.
Yet, in midst of all the humdrum of modern life, Varun has a small area dedicated to greenery, which he calls ‘going to nature’. Taking us to a balcony area attached to the room, we see lush green plants and a little view of the surroundings. Gushing about the glamorous area, Varun Dhawan admits ‘when I got my house, I wanted open spaces, a little greenery’.
The 31-year-old actor is a big movie lover and takes inspiration from watching Hollywood classics. Which is why large prints of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Hugh Jackman and George Clooney hanging on his walls, come as no big surprise. ‘My biggest inspiration is The Rock, and I have put him up there, eating, because, whenever I work out I realise that he eats, so I eat more.’
Moving on to Varun’s den, designed by his mother, Laali Dhawan is a treat to the eyes. The room, styled like a study, features a classic leather couch, and a huge telly for all movie cravings, small nook for books, all tied down with several arts and paintings hanging on the wall.
The room also features a family photo of Varun with his dad, David Dhawan, and some cute baby photos. But probably the most prominent highlight is a life-size painting of Varun, gifted to him by Shirin Mehra. Although, he cheekily admits that he is ‘narcissictic’ but nevertheless, receiving a gift with his face on it, does make him cringe a bit.
Then we move on to a work-in-progress gym area. Varun, whose current obsession is boxing, is proud of his make-shift workout area, which he calls his ‘sacred space’. Already loaded with essentials like weighs, punching bag, there is an inspirational quote on the wall that says “Your only limit is you.”
‘Right now I am really enjoying boxing, more than doing any weight,’ admits Varun. Although the bachelor pad is still a work in progress, we are jealous of it anyway!
