The Helping Hands Foundation started with an idea to upkeep kids who are Cancer patients at The Tata Memorial Hospital, structured their bi-annual fundraiser cum exhibition by bringing brilliant lifestyle labels under one roof at St Regis, Mumbai. Mira Kapoor and the Tata Memorial Hospital children were present at the lamp lighting ceremony.
The Helping Hands Foundation works with Tata Memorial Hospital which is a government hospital, therefore, cannot implore funds for it is projected. All the accommodation, survivor project, respect and emergency treatment funds are disbursed by Impact foundation at Tata Memorial Hospital.
The Accommodation project works directly with the hospital. This is strictly for children who are undergoing free /subsidized treatment for cancer and are forced to stay on the footpath. The Bereavement projects help fund the last rites for kids who accede to the disease.
Mira Kapoor who was present for the lamp lighting ceremony said ‘I’m really happy and truly humbled to be associated with the Helping Hands Foundation. Their team has been working tirelessly with the Tata Memorial hospital to provide medical treatment for young cancer survivors. They have a wonderful initiative called the Accommodation project, it provides housing for the cancer survivors as well as their parents so that they don’t abandon their treatments midway.’
Madhavi Goenka with Priyanka Thakur hosted a high tea with Jaya Raheja, Pratima Bhatia, Sapna Singhania, Babita Malkani, Shweta Bhosale, Chaya Momaya, Rajaylakshmi Rao, Sandhya Mukundan, Suman Malik, Tanaz Doshi, Khushnaz Turner, Uma Punjabi, Lyla Marker,Anuja Bijlani,Radhika Mittal, Lata Patel, Enakshi Parekh , Nayantara Thacker in presence.
Anil Kapoor was also a part at the opening of the Paediatric OPD at Tata Memorial Hospital. The weekend opening of the reconditioned Paediatric OPD at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel, Mumbai had Anil Kapoor as the guest of honour. Anil Kapoor said, ‘I am delighted to be present here at the inauguration of Paediatric Oncology Division at the Tata Memorial Hospital and to associate with Helping Hands. Their work over the past few years has directly impacted the lives of thousands of children and their families, providing them with means to get treated in a situation where many would have lost hope. The Accommodation Project etc. is a huge step forward as many children used to be on the streets whilst treatment was being administered. I urge all of you to support and donate generously towards this fabulous cause by the small but determined NGO.’
Helping Hands was excited to be back in Mumbai with their spring-summer edition of shopping with endowed designers, veterans and younger finds such as Rahul Mishra, MxS (Monisha Jaising & Shweta Bachchan, Shriya Som, Mishru, Maison Shefali, Richa Jaisinghani label, Tissa Fontaneda, UV Specials, Darshanaa Sanjanaa Jewellers, Golecha Jewels, Mirage, Parina Jewels, Studio Psd, Alyssa Fine Jewellery contributed among others.
The purpose is to make comfortable yet reasonable shopping with a wide range of outstanding choices such as traditional wear, western wear, ornaments, footwear trimmings and gifts, decor etc. Some reasonable yet prevalent labels from around the country showcasing this season were Mystic, Clos, Fourever Fortune, Mellowdrama, Darshanaa Sanjanaa Jewellers, Limerick by Abirr N’Nanki, Klitche, Deepa Gurnani, Crockery Hut, Bling Bling Queen, The Little Shop by Megha, Guneet Sethi, Aapro, Canny Art Home,Nysa & Shubhangi, Shrey The Store, Navya, Sapna Singhania Jewellery, Mirage Jewels and many more which featured a wide range of products, perks including Helping Hands mark healthy snacks.
