Razor sharp smashes, clever net work and an unmatched level of aggression as well as agility was seen on the court of singles title finals in the Thailand Open.
Olympics winner and world champion, Carolina Marin of Spain won the women’s single title at the Thailand Open. She claimed her win over top seed Tai Tzu-ying from Taiwan and screamed in delight as she won match point in the second set after steam-rolling 21-9 and 21-16 in just 42 minutes.
Coming to the men’s single finals match, Viktor Axrlsen of Denmark battled a cold match but claimed the title by winning straight sets. In just 44 minutes to triumph 21-14, 21-14, he made his opponent from Hong Kong Angus Long taste the loss of the Thailand Open.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Polii and Rahayu overpowered Thai pair Jongkolphan and Rawinda to win their fourth women’s doubles title. In the mixed doubles, Thailand’s Dechapol and Sapsiree claim wins against Indonesia’s Praveen Jordan and Melati. Finally, the men’s double team from Taiwan, Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin beat Malaysia’s Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in the Thailand Open finals.
