Big night for the music stars!
The 62 Grammy Awards, the highest honours in the music industry were handed out at a ceremony in Los Angeles recently. Hosted by Alicia Keys, music personalities were honoured for their achievements. Billie Eilish won the maximum number of Grammys and Michelle Obama won the Grammy for ‘Best Spoken Word Album’.
A tribute was paid to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash with his 13 year-old daughter, hours before the Grammy started. This year, the performances were in favour of vulnerability and remembrance. From Lizzo to Lil Nas X’s staging of ‘Old Town Road’, there were many usual and hyped moments.
DJ Khaled and John Legend sang ‘Higher’, a rousing tribute to the late rapper Nipsey Hussel. Also, Demi Lovato returned to the stage for the first time since she nearly died of a drug overdose in July 2018. Tanya Tucker was accompanied by Brandi Carlile on piano, silenced the room with ‘Bring My Flowers Now’.
Spanish sensation Rosalia flamenco danced her way through ‘Malamente’ while Ariana Grande re-enacted her music video for ‘7 Rings’. The Jonas Brothers returned to the Grammy stage in black and gold suits while giving a high impact performance.
