Meanwhile, MP Jabir finished fifth in 49.71 seconds in the Men’s 400m Hurdles semifinals and failed to qualify for the finals. Overall the first two days of Doha World Championship did not turn out to be good for India with the best of the players losing spots in the Olympics events.
However, the ongoing South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under 18 Championship ended with team India beating Bangladesh by 2-1 in the finals, lifting their maiden SAFF U-18 title at Kathmandu, Nepal. Taking the lead in the first two minutes of the match by a mindblowing goal from Vikram Pratap Singh and breaking the tie in 90+1 minutes with an impeccable goal from Ravi Bahadur Rana, team India performed brilliantly in the field.
