Asian Archery Championship kick-started from 22 November and today is the last day. While all the archers aimed for the best shot, Indian athletes definitely left a mark with their back to back outstanding performances.
In the Mixed Team Recurve competition, ace archer Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das brought bronze to India after beating the team of China by 6-2.

Atanu Das also showcased some brilliant shots in Men’s Recurve, bagging the bronze medal in the championship. Atanu currently holds 22 position in the Men’s Recurve World Ranking.

The Men’s and Women’s Team Recurve events also witnessed a great show from the Indian archers and the players bought two more bronze medals to India defeating China and Japan respectively.

Well, the archers hailing from India did not just stop there. The mixed team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and three times Asian games medalist Abhishek Verma bagged gold for India while the compound team of Abhishek and Rajat Chauhan also clinched the silver medal in the championship.

The 21 edition of Asian Archery Championship is currently held in Bangkok, Thailand and is the third championship of the year for qualifying in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with six quotas held for Asian archers.
