Parents usually live their dreams through their kids. But putting the load of one’s aspirations on the future generation does not always turn out in a planned way and can swing in a negative path.
Based on the same narrative, Sudhir Mishra’s upcoming movie ‘Serious Men’ spins a story of a father who wants to bring good fortune to his family, banking on his son’s talent. Set in Mumbai city, the movie’s trailer is dropped today by the filmmakers and it looks promising in navigating the life of a middle-class family man living in the City of Dreams.
The trailer opens with Nawazuddin Siddiqui explaining how a middle-class man’s life progresses with every generation at a slow speed and how some fortunate ones or privileged ones just bask in fame and glory. Aiming for the same, Nawaz takes up certain bleak steps that bring his family the popularity but with consequences.
The movie also focuses on profit seeking organizations that start taking leverage of innocent minds as the father son duo move ahead in their journey to fame.
Set to release on 2 October on Netflix, ‘Serious Men’ also stars Indira Tiwari, M. Nasser and Aakshath Das.
