Only four women remain in the race for the first Grand Slam title of 2020!
All set for a dramatic finale at the Australian Open, two semi-finals will be played with the top class players who have made it to this stage on 30 January at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne.
In the first contest, home favourite Ashleigh Barty will face American youngster Sofia Kenin. Following that encounter is the showdown between fourth seed Simona Halep and unseeded Garbine Muguruza.

In just 53 minutes, Simona Halep thrashed Estonian Anett Kontaveit, 6-1 6-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open. It was definitely a whirlwind victory!
Garbine Muguruza defeated Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-5, 6-3 to capture a spot in the tournament’s semis. The Spaniard has definitely made a great comeback!
With a quest to lift the Australian Open trophy after 42 years, Ashleigh Barty became the first Australian women to win the super eight and head straight to the semis after winning over Petra Kvitova, 7-6, 6-2.
Sofia Kenin kept her game neat to defeat Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, 6-4 6-4, to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final ever. Way to go!
