Virat Kohli is breaking batting records non-stop, at just 30 years of age. He has become the first and only batsman to score 20,000 international runs within a decade.
Kohli made his Test and T20I debut in 2010 while making his debut in the 50-over format in 2008, his incredible stats provide a reflection of his greatness.
Kohli has aggregated 20,502 runs across the three formats of cricket- Tests, ODI and T20 matches, out of which he has scored 20,018 runs from 2010 to 2019.
The batting maestro achieved the feat on the way to his 43 match-winning hundred in the third ODI against the West Indies. This helped India seal a 2-0 win in the ODI series in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Indian captain already has 68 hundreds under his cap, only 32 less than Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time record of 100 centuries, which looked improbable to break at one point of time.
He is not just making batting look ridiculously easy but is also scoring at an unprecedented consistency across all formats of the game. He is currently averaging 60.31, his highest at the end of an innings in ODI cricket.
Kohli’s consistent runs helped India maintain a clean slate and clinch the T20I series too, on their tour of West Indies. Team India will begin their World Test Championships campaign in a two match Test series against the West Indies from 22 August.
