Diwali celebrations across the nation are moments full of joy and happiness. Somewhere along the years, the festival of Diwali came to mean fire crackers. Podar Jumbo Kids has taken this occasion to gift all its children Beej Patakas with the eco-friendly theme “InkoPhodnenahi, Ugaanehai”. Chakris, Anars, Sutli Bombs, Rockets and a host of other crackers filled with Mr. Raghav Podar, Chairman Podar Education said, “We believe in developing the right values in our children from an early age. Diwali is the biggest festival for most of us, where we build memories to last a lifetime. However, our environment is crying out for us to stop polluting it, and we want to inculcate a love for the environment in our children. We have gifted our little Jumbo kids and their families with chakris, anars, rockets and a variety of other fireworks, but filled with seeds of plants and vegetables instead of gunpowder, chemicals and plastic films. Even the wrapping is made of bio degradable paper, and hand printed using safe colours. We are especially proud that these eco-friendly Beej Patakas are handmade by rural women, providing employment to very large underprivileged groups.
The initiative is a way to preserve tradition along with conserving nature, while the future of our country form their ethos for the environment while celebrating this auspicious festival of Diwali.”
Around 3,000 Beej Patakas were gifted to children with a message for the family to imbibe a sense of conserving the environment.
