At the Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Chairperson and founder of the company, Nita Ambani spoke for the first time, assuring everyone that COVID-19 vaccines will be available in every nook and corner of the country.
Partnering with the government and local bodies, Reliance Foundation will conduct mega-scale COVID-19 testing across India. Calling the war against the global pandemic far from over, with the help of Jio’s digital infrastructure, India will win over coronavirus.
Reliance is all set to volunteer for the nationwide distribution of the coronavirus vaccine by using digital distribution and supply chain. Nita Ambani also added that along with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), they have established India’s first 100 bed exclusive COVID-19 Hospital in Mumbai within a record time of two weeks.
Under the world’s largest free food distribution programme ‘Mission Anna Seva’, Reliance’s initiative has provided over five crore meals to marginalized communities, daily-wage labourers and frontline workers across the country.
Apart from this, Nita Ambani stated that Reliance Foundation is producing a lakh N95 face masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) daily for health workers and caregivers. They will also provide free fuel to emergency vehicles so that COVID-19 patients quickly get the medical assistance they need.
