We all remember the day ‘2 April 2011’, when Gautam Gambhir scored 97 runs and MS Dhoni finished the final match in style.
It was the day which is forever engraved in our hearts, when the cricket team of India created history by bringing the ICC World Cup for the second time while going against Sri Lanka in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
After a wait of 28 years, India had lifted the champions trophy under the leadership of Dhoni, while Ravi Shastri’s commentary made the match even more memorable.
On the completion of nine years of this historic moment, Gautam Gambhir shared a picture of the iconic shot of the match on his Twitter account and thanked India for the support and love that was showered on the players.
