We think that the comfort factor plays a very important role when it comes to sporting Indian outfits, and our aim is exactly that. We strive towards making every outfit with utmost details, making it look effortless, yet chic! Prints and contemporary styles are our USP, and our outfits give every woman’s wardrobe an eccentric twist without adding too much glitter and gold.
Fusion wear is a fad when it comes to casual-wear and party-wear. But now it has crept its way into wedding wear too. What makes it steal the limelight more than any other style?
The best part about fusion wear is that it is extremely versatile. One can use separates from different outfits, mix-match it, and create an entirely new look. We think that today’s women are constantly making a statement, having access to outfits from such amazing designers! And who doesn’t want to make an effort to steal the limelight wherever they go?
The new generation appreciates a bit of twist and zing, and wants to move away from the regular sarees and salwar-kameez even for attending weddings. What are the trending fusion-wear you offer?
It’s not just the new generation. Every woman today, of any age group, wants to be experimental when it comes to ethnic wear. They are all okay to experiment with the ongoing trends, whether they are the most comfortable pant-sarees, saree-gowns, sporting shirts with lehengas, or ruffle sarees, drapes and jacket sets even.
How do you style extremely traditional silk to create a fusion garment?
Prints are our USP, so we try and incorporate modern interpretations of ancient art forms, using the traditional silk. Silk is lustrous and perfectly drapeable, which serves as an extremely versatile fabric. From well constructed styles to drapes, it makes every style look absolutely stunning.
How would you style a one-piece to have an ethnic-look with a modern touch for a wedding evening?
To give a one-piece an ethnic look with a modern touch, one can opt for modern prints in classic styles, modern embroideries, drapes in silk etc. Saree- gowns are perfect when we talk about modern ethnic looks.
Define the jewelry that adds the oomph factor to fusion wear.
We’d suggest spicing up your look with statement jewelry! Layering necklaces, rings and bangles definitely add an oomph factor of a fusion wear. Tribal jewelry is trending the most. Mixing metals is also one way to add extra points to complete your look.
The grand Kalamkari prints/artwork have taken over the fashion world, and your latest collection is inspired by it too. How do you mould these handmade prints to look chic?
There is so much about the history of our ancient artwork. So much to learn, so much to get inspired from, and so much scope to revive and recreate from our art forms. Drawing inspiration from our ever so gorgeous Kalamkari paintings, we wanted to create something that would retain our ancient art history, and at the same , fit into our modern trends. We maintained an earthy color palette withmodern interpretations of the art form, using them in making silhouettes that are in trend today, edgy, and ones that make a statement.
What are the wardrobe updates one needs to make, for this coming wedding season?
Up your game by experimenting with the latest trends. All our heart, to outfits with drapes, draped pants, layered silhouettes, trendy jackets and stitched sarees. Opt for statement prints and embroideries in colors of the season. One must also invest in a couple of statement jewelry pieces.
What are the Indo-Western styles, according to you, that will be the trend in the upcoming summer-wedding parties?
We are rooting for drapes, pant-sarees, a lot of organza, cheeky crop-tops and eye-catching prints.
What are the benefits of attending weddings in spring and summer? What fashion freedom does it bring?
You need not worry about those extra layers to keep yourself warm. Hence you can experiment with a lot of easy breezy styles, crop-tops, sexy backs, draped skirts, high slits, floral prints, vibrant colors, etc.
