Social media has become an integral part of our life but with so many platforms out there, bringing lucrative ways of connecting with huge populations, arrives confusion!
With people taking these platforms to send memes, messages, voice notes, video calls and more, the multiple apps becomes time consuming making us switch between several apps.
Hence, Facebook has heard this unsaid plea of people and merged its Messenger experience with Instagram. With this new update, messages and calls from friends and family using Instagram will stay in your Instagram app while the main change is that through Messenger app now you can reach out to your Instagram friends without downloading a new app, and vice versa. Moreover, you can also control where you receive messages and calls, such as in your chats, in your message requests or not at all.
The company is also introducing ten new features so you can stay close to your friends. From Selfie stickers, that are a unique hybrid of Boomerang, emojis, and selfies to ‘Watch Together’ through which you can watch trending videos with friends on IGTV during a video call. Instagram will also have vanish mode, where you can set messages to automatically disappear after they’re seen.
These new features are currently rolled out in a few countries and soon will be expanded across the world with several other features.
