Decoding the sole PR marketing strategies, we come up with Part 4 of our chain by focusing on this week’s release: Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (HPBJ), the forthcoming comedy-drama.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has an army of actors including Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill, Piyush Mishra and Jassie Gill, a Punjabi actor-singer, is all set to do his Bollywood debut.
The movie is a sequel to the 2016 hit, Happy Bhag Jayegi, both of which have been directed by Mudassar Aziz. This time, instead of Lahore, a major part of the film takes place in China.
Here are some of the appealing strategies that the squad used to maintain the expectation:
First Look
Mudassar Aziz is back with amusement riot Happy Phir Bhaag Jayegi. Prior to a month, the team members released the poster of the film.
The poster mainly focuses on Sonakshi Sinha, who seems very strong-minded to solve something, while another Happy, played by Diana Penty is now a wanted person. In the poster, the smaller versions of Piyush Mishra, Jimmy Sheirgill and Jassie Gill are seen inside a wooden momo box, while Sonakshi holds a chopstick and looks awfully confused.
After sharing the poster, the makers brought short attractive teasers which boiled up the excitement and suspense even more. In one of the teasers, Diana was seen getting aware of the fact there’s an imposter with the same name and in the second one, Daman Singh Bagga played by Jimmy Shergill was getting ready for his wedding where he is informed that Happy ran away.
The film shifts, where a motley group is searching for a runaway bride, Happy (Diana Penty). Sinha’s character, also called Happy, gets caught in the mix and what follows is a whole lot of puzzlement.
Promotional Events
As the release date of the film fast approaches, lead stars of HPBJ have got busy in promotions. They attended the trailer launch event and guess what; they all arrived at the venue on a bus! Yes, you heard it right.
Speaking about the film, producer Anand L. Rai had earlier said, ‘It’s a cheerful extension of Happy Bhag Jayegi and we hope the audience will enjoy this film as much as we did making it.’
The crew used very minimal but unique strategies to connect to the audience. The movie stars are giving their full time doing promotions of the film on various platforms.
In an effort to reach to a bigger audience, Diana Penty and Sonakshi Sinha along with the cast, reached out to all the reality shows like; Dus Ka Dum, Dance Deewane, India’s Best Dramebaaz, Indian Idol and interacted with celebrity hosts and their audience of the reality show.
After the trailer launch of the sequel last month, makers released the Punjabi dance number, Swag Saha Nahi Jaye and then the title track.
The promotions are so phenomenal that it is obvious the film is going to be a joy ride.
Glam Quotient
Bollywood celebrities have never failed to impress us with their fashion sense on any occasion. And when it comes to promotions of films, they come for shutterbugs in full swag.
The two leading ladies of the movie- Sonakshi Sinha and Diana Penty have been giving us a lot of rocking outfit ideas. Some of them are:
~ Talking about the Dabangg actor’s outfit that made quite a buzz; it was chic and seemed comfortable at the same time.
~ In one of her outfit, she wore an ivory wrap kaftan kameez set that featured tribal appliqué feature on it. What we liked is the way Sona added a pop of colour to her outfit by teaming it with a pair of blue heels.
~ Next, she was seen in separates of white shades and enhanced by black-coloured psychedelic prints. While her cropped blouse was structural, her pants were flared, and she paired her outfit with white-hued Zara sneakers. Sona also wore a long jacket to notch up her sassy avatar.
~ Diana Penty aced the formal look with classic white shirt teamed it up with a black textured jacket and complimenting flared pants. She nailed the timeless look and she spruced it up with a middle-parted ponytail and light makeup. The Cocktail actress also wore block heels to round off her classy avatar.
Besides the marketing rounds, the movie itself is pretty convincing at least for the fact it is a comedy-drama. The movie is all set to release on 24th August 2018.
