Former India Cricket Captain Rahul Dravid, who is currently the head of the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) Cricket Operations, received a notice on ‘Conflict of Interest’ allegations levied against him. BCCI’s Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer Justice DK Jain has sent a notice after receiving a complaint from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta.
According to Gupta’s complaint, Dravid is allegedly conflicted as he is the NCA Director and also employed as a Vice-President of India Cements Group, which owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.
Dravid’s former teammates Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh took it to their social media handle to slam BCCI over this issue. Ganguly calling it a new trend of Indian cricket for publicity, wrote, “New fashion in indian cricket …..conflict of interest ….Best way to remain in news …god help indian cricket ……Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer.”

Condemning the action of BCCI, veteran spinner, Harbhajan Singh expressed his grief over the issue saying, “Really ?? Don’t know where it’s heading to.. u can’t get better person thn him for indian cricket”. He further added that issuing a notice to the legendary players is insulting and cricket needs their guidance for its betterment.

According to the legal procedures, Rahul Dravid will have to file his reply in two weeks and might have to appear for an in-person hearing if demanded by Justice Jain.
Well, this is not the first time ‘Conflict of Interest’ has been issued. Earlier, Ganguly along with Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman were also issued with the same notice.
