Following the game, the Blue’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel heaped praises on this win of Chelsea that helped them advance to the league’s quarterfinals. The manager was particularly impressed with the showing of N’Golo Kante and reiterated the Frenchman’s importance to the team, thanks to his intensity on the ground as the central midfielder of Chelsea FC.
A comfortable win at Stamford Bridge, the English club’s scoring card was opened by Chelsea’s attacking midfielder, Hakim Ziyech who hit a counter attack goal in the 34 minute. Coming off the bench, Emerson Palmieri scored in the four minutes extra of the game with his first touch after an assist from Christian Pulisic.
