Presented by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the 49 Kerala State Film Awards was held on 27 July at Trivandrum, Kerala in which many actors, directors, singers, movies, were honoured by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for their best performances in Malayalam movies. While Jayasurya won the award for best actor in the films ‘Captain’ and ‘Njan Marykutty’ and Soubin Shahir for ‘Sudani’, the Director Shyamaprasad was awarded for directing the second-best film ‘Oru Njayarazhcha’.
