Football is the most loved sport, globally. One of the most prestigious awards ceremony of this sport, UEFA Champions League Awards was held in Monaco.
The UEFA Men’s Player of the year was awarded to Liverpool’s defender Virgil Van Djik. He was competing against Juventus’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, but because of his brilliant performance, he deserved to win the award.

The Juventus forward, Ronaldo sat in the front row, next to Messi and Virgil van Dijk.
But the highlight of the event was when Ronaldo delivered a brilliant interview regarding his relationship with his fellow five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Messi. Throughout the night, the duo was seen engaged in a conversation. Though both of them are rivals on the stadium, Ronaldo created a lighter and cheeky atmosphere during the interview and his words showed the incredible respect between the two world-class footballers
During the function, the presenter Reshmin Chowdhury asked Ronaldo about his rivalry with Messi. He said that they have shared the same stage from 15 years in football. Though they share a good relation, yet they haven’t had dinner together but he hopes for one in the future. He added, both of them have pushed each other’s limit and they will be a part of the football history for their bond and healthy rivalry.

Why will Messi stay behind right? The Argentinian forward matched Ronaldo’s praise of their rivalry and called their long-running battle a “beautiful” one.
