In a brief conversation with us, jewellery designer Meit Kamdar Avlanii talks about the statement pieces of jewellery & the must-haves for the affluent woman:
1. What are the different kinds of statement jewellery that you offer?
Apart from the classic pieces all of our jewellery is one of a kind, a statement piece itself. These pieces are statement as most of my pieces have a unique design and style.
2. One thing that is unique in your design and a must-have for every woman.
My design pattern is not distinctive to one aesthetic. I try and use different references for each of my designs, and every aesthetic varies. But I always use an amalgamation of colour stones & pearls with diamonds for my design.
I feel every woman who is fond of statement pieces should own an Emerald Ring. Emerald is one of my favourite stones in the gem world. A stunning emerald ring is a definite must-have for the statement lady.
3. We believe in women with bold ideas, how can one represent that with your jewellery, or what kind of Jewellery will you recommend someone who wants to stand out?
Jewellery in today’s world is an extension of a woman’s personal style. Statement pieces of jewellery are generally quite bold and are not minimalistic. Such pieces are quite noticeable and always very provocative to the eye. Our jewellery is bold, unique and provocative and thus I call them statement pieces.
4. The Blue Archeri displays a modern woman perfectly with its contemporary design, why did you design this piece and what was the inspiration?
The Blue Archeri is a very contemporary piece, It was designed using the Archeri Corals as a source of Inspiration and blue tanzanite cabochons as a center element. It was designed keeping in mind that the piece is not restrictive when worn, the versatility in the pieces makes it wearable on a gown as well as any Indian outfit. The piece is a choker necklace that can as well be worn as a handcuff!
5. What according to you are the current trends in jewellery that resonate with bold and affluent women?
I currently see women mix and matching a lot of jewellery. Rings and Earrings have always been faves in the segment but off late chunky neckpieces, tassels, long chains and stacking of jewellery are very much in. A Lot of my clientele usually stacks up bracelets, neckpieces and even rings. From bridal jewellery to everyday wear I see this trend really pleasing and probably gives the wearer more functionality with their jewellery
