Coronavirus has made everyone stop their work and take a breather, but well it’s turning out to be not so for all. James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2’ has been postponed along with all the sequels of the movie, by a year.
To announce this news, James Cameron released a statement about the delay in release of ‘Avatar 2’, explaining the movie production situation. The live action filming is happening in New Zealand but the virtual production work has been halted in Los Angeles. Due to the global pandemic, the team cannot reach their targeted schedule and get the theatrical release. So, instead of December 2021, ‘Avatar 2’ will release in December 2022.
James Cameron added that he’s very disappointed about this delay but is extremely happy with the work of the actors, team and Weta Digital in bringing the world of Pandora to life. The director also expressed his gratitude towards Disney Studios and especially the ‘Avatar’ fans.
