The hard court Grand Slam, Australian Open which is set to commence from 8 February, 2021 will go ahead according to its original schedule after the quarantine players have tested negative for COVID 19.
On Wednesday night, one of the hotel workers where a bunch of Tennis stars were in quarantine was tested positive resulting in cancellation of warm up matches on Thursday. Post which the Health Authority advised the tournament organizers to get the player and their entourage tested of COVID infection.
Following the guideline, the Grand Slam organizers at Melbourne went ahead with the tests and today via a social media post announced that all the quarantine participants have been tested negative of COVID 19.

Moreover, the men’s and women’s singles draws for Australian Open 2021 have also been revealed at Melbourne Park today and Ashleigh Barty of Australia has come out as the top seed in the women’s field while Serbian player Novak Djokovic is holding the same position in men’s draw.
