The members of Team India for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in Australia have been announced recently. Like the earlier edition, Team India will be led by the top skipper Harmanpreet Kaur while Smriti Mandhana will be the Vice-captain of the Indian team.
The 15 member team also has a new face Richa Ghosh hailing from West Bengal. The teen cricket player Shafali Verma, who became the youngest Indian cricketer to score a half-century, breaking a record held by Sachin Tendulkar, will also be putting her talent on display in the upcoming World Cup series.

The T20 Women’s World Cup will kick start from 21 February with 10 teams fighting to raise the ultimate trophy.
Along with the squad announcement, Women cricketers, just ahead of their world championship, have been felicitated at the BCCI Annual Awards ceremony held at Mumbai.
In the ceremony, Anjum Chopra received the ‘BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award For Women’ meanwhile Poonam Yadav bagged the ‘Best International Cricketer – Women’ title.
