This weekend, two mass shootings took place within 24 hours in the United States, leaving 29 dead. America has been facing an increased gun violence which in turn is tearing apart the nation and needs to be tackled responsibly.
In the first shooting, a gunman armed with an assault rifle, opened fire on shoppers at a packed Walmart store, killing 20 people in El Paso, Texas. Police confirmed, a 21-year old identified as Patrick Crusius from Allen, Texas, surrendered about a block away from the Walmart and was the only person in custody.

Less than 13 hours later, another shooting took place in Dayton, Ohio. A lone shooter killed nine people and injured 26, who was shot dead by the police. The attacker opened fire around 1:00 am (0500 GMT) on a street in Oregon, Ohio.

An NGO called The Gun Violence Archive, defines this as a mass shooting, means an incident in which at least four people are wounded or killed in a shooting. This was the 250th mass shooting in America.

The FBI, local and state law enforcement are working together in El Paso and in Dayton, Ohio. Information is rapidly being accumulated in Dayton. Much has already be learned in El Paso. Law enforcement was very rapid in both instances. Updates will be given throughout the day!
