The Oscars 2019 saw many things but what shall remain etched in our memories would be the intimate performance of ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper on the stage. The two co-stars of the award-winning movie, A Star Is Born stirred up many questions, raised many eyes and above all melted many hearts as they draped themselves lovingly on the stage and sang the last verse of the song cheek-to-cheek, staring into each other’s soul. After the performance was over, it brought the crowd to their feet with a roaring standing ovation, Bradley’s girlfriend being the first one to jump up from her seat.
Soon after giving the electric performance, the winner of the Oscar for Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’ was announced. Lady Gaga revealed, in a typical post-award press conference backstage at the Academy Awards, the advice that Cooper gave her before their performance, ‘’One of the hardest things in life is to be brave enough to be yourself. I wish everyone that is going to that celebration to feel joy inside of them.’ That’s actually what Bradley said to me yesterday, right before we did our last rehearsal for this performance of ‘Shallow.’ He said, ‘Let’s just drop a little bit of joy.’ And I said, ‘Okay.’ And turns out, joy did a whole lot for me.’
Sharing a seat and a microphone, the two maintained a serious eye-lock and were almost close enough for the fans to expect a kiss. It all started when the 44-year-old director, Cooper decided to take the ‘poker face’ singer on board for the movie A Star Is Born in 2016. After the critical success of the film, the duo even toured across the world giving a live performance and making space in the hearts of their fans.
All this while, The Vitoria’s Secret runway strutter, Irina Shayk, who also shares a baby girl with Bradley Cooper, wasn’t really bothered by her boyfriend’s alleged on-stage romance. A source says, ‘Irina knows that Bradley and Gaga are artists. It’s a non-issue for her. They were in character putting on an Oscar performance.’

When Gaga went onto the stage to pick up the award for best original song, she thanked her Bradley saying, ‘Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could’ve sang with me but you. Thank you for believing in us.’ The two never stop praising each other and thank enough for the growth and experience with the other.
