Team India has created history at the Asian Wrestling Championship!
Sunil Kumar outclassed Kyrgyzstan’s Azat Salidinov in the 87 kg summit bout to win a gold after 27 years for India in the Greco-Roman Category. Played in Delhi, Sunil’s defence moves kept Salidinov at bay and the opponent did not have any answer to the Indian’s strategy in the finals. A historical performance!
In 1993, India’s Pappu Yadav won the gold in the 48kg Greco-Roman category. After 27 years, Sunil Kumar clinches gold in 87 kg Greco-Roman category.
