On the occasion of 71 Republic Day celebration of India, the list of Padma Awardees of this year was announced.
Sri M, the founder of Satsang Foundation, has been conferred with the Padma Bhushan Award for his extraordinary work in society as a spiritual teacher. Sri M is a prominent name in the field of humanitarian work. Born and brought up in a Muslim family of Kerala, Sri M found his inclination towards a yogi life by being inspired by the Sufi tales. Today the social reformer and educationist runs many initiatives across the nation to lift the condition of life of the rural population.
Along with Sri M, former Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar will also be honoured with the prestigious award posthumously.
For excelling in the world of performing arts, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s name is on the list of Padma Shri awardees. The actress expressed her gratitude by sharing a small clip on her social media where we can see Kangana thanking the Government of India and her fans for their immense support.

Apart from Kangana, the renowned producer-director Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor have also been conferred with the fourth highest civilian award. Karan and Ekta also shared a gratitude note on their social media handles, thanking their supporters and the driving forces.
The ceremonial function will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi in the month of March or April in the presence of President of India.
