Eucerin, the dermatology-backed global skincare brand, in collaboration with SOHO House Mumbai, curated Skin Deep: The Science of Skincare, an exclusive evening celebrating the intersection of science, beauty, and self-care. The event explored how our relationship with skin evolves over time, shaped by aging, personal identity, beauty rituals, and clinical truths.
The evening began with a rejuvenating face yoga session led by Amy Kim, a Korean Taiwanese yoga instructor, who blends Eastern practices with modern wellness. This was followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring eminent experts – Dr. Rashmi Shetty, celebrity dermatologist and leading aesthetic physician; Meher Jadwani, founder of Dearist and former Vogue India beauty editor; Karishma Kewalramani, founder & CEO of FAE Beauty; and Megha Asher, co-founder & COO of Juicy Chemistry. The conversation was moderated by Alekha Advani, founder of WayWell, sparking insights into skincare science, industry trends, and holistic wellness.
Across the evening, panelists reflected on the realities of age, environment, stress, and emotion, and how that affects self-image and confidence. Dr. Rashmi noted that Indian skin, while resilient in many ways, is particularly susceptible to pigmentation due to higher melanin activity and constant exposure to sun and pollution. In this context, she emphasized the need for ingredients that are both gentle and effective. She highlighted Thiamidol, Eucerin’s patented ingredient, which targets the root of melanin production, delivering visible results quickly without the irritation often associated with other actives. And while the right topical solutions are vital, she also shared that true skin health begins from within, with gut health playing a crucial role in conditions ranging from pigmentation to acne and inflammation.
At the heart of the evening was the brand’s commitment to dermatological science, with a century-long legacy of developing clinically proven solutions for concerns such as acne, sun protection, and hyperpigmentation. Innovations like Thiamidol exemplify this approach, offering targeted, research-backed results tailored for Indian skin, balancing effectiveness with gentleness for healthier, more resilient skin.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Rashmi Shetty noted: “Skincare goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about empowering confidence at every stage of life. I’ve long believed that skincare is a deeply personal journey, shaped by individual skin type, lifestyle, and changing needs over time. The conversation at SOHO House, in collaboration with Eucerin, highlighted this beautifully by unpacking the science behind effective skincare. It’s encouraging to see brands like Eucerin take a truly scientific and research-driven approach, understanding the unique needs of Indian skin to develop dermatological solutions that address specific concerns while promoting overall skin health.”
Akshay Kawale, Business Unit Head – Derma, Eucerin added, “Today, skincare is no longer seen as merely cosmetic, it is an essential part of personal wellbeing. Eucerin aims to lead this conversation, with products rooted in over a century of clinical expertise and patented formulations, specifically developed to address real skin concerns. With a deep understanding of Indian skin types, we design solutions that go beyond treatment, empowering healthier, more confident lives every day.”
With founders, experts, and cultural voices leading the dialogue, Skin Deep offered guests a rare opportunity to reflect on the deeper role skincare plays in shaping both identity and everyday rituals.
