Microsoft Co-founder and world renowned American businessman Bill Gates lost his father William H Gates to Alzheimer’s on Tuesday.
Post which Bill Gates took to his official blog to pen down an open letter dedicated to his father where he talked about the influence his father had in his life and how it led to laying the foundation of the great company, Microsoft.
The 94-year-old man was a lawyer and a philanthropist whose constant support and love became the stairs to success for Bill Gates as he states: “I came to appreciate my dad’s quiet influence on almost everything I have done in life. In Microsoft’s early years, I turned to him at key moments to seek his legal counsel.”
Giving all the credit for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to his dad, Bill Gates also talked about the philanthropic values that were deeply rooted into him by his parents and made him the man he is today.
The Microsoft Co-founder also shared a video reflecting upon the life of Bill Gates Senior and gave us a glimpse into the father-son bond.

As he ended his letter, the 64-year-old business tycoon wrote, “The experience of being the son of Bill Gates was incredible. People used to ask my dad if he was the real Bill Gates. The truth is, he was everything I try to be. I will miss him every day.” and shared the link of his heartfelt note on his social media handle along with the picture of Senior Gates.
