India Test opener Prithvi Shaw has been slapped with an eight month ban from all forms of competitive cricket after failing a dope test. This was after he was found to have inadvertently ingested Terbutaline, a prohibited drug on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list, in his cough syrup.
On their official website, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement, have a look:
Shaw went to Australia last winter but was ruled out of the Test series with an ankle injury. Now, he missed three home Tests against South Africa in October and also the first Test against Bangladesh starting on 14 November.
