If you have fantasised about your dream wedding, the perfect dress is the first challenge to nail. The Bridal Fashion Week threw up some traditional and some not so traditional designs this time. We present you some of the best ones from the runway.
Marchesa Notte
The label has been famous for its layered tulles and the lavish usage of luxurious lace in their wedding dresses. The wedding dresses showcased at the Bridal Fashion Week included pearl embroidered mermaid gowns, A-line skirts with floral appliques, sheath dresses with hand embroidered laces. V necklines, billowing sleeves, and illusion sleeves were given focus.
Elie Saab
Opulence and refinement define the dresses created by Elie Saab. The Bridal Fashion Week saw a collection of classic ball gowns which drew inspiration from the “Bal de Vienne” or the Vienna’s balls, a tradition among the elite class in Austria. The fairy tale dresses featured voluminous skirts made from layers of lace, embroidered tulle and satin. The off-shoulder necklines give the dress a contemporary twist.
Tadashi Shoji
He seems to understand that today’s brides cannot settle for a single bridal couture and that is why he has extended his collection from bridal dresses to dresses for the reception, dance, rehearsal dinner and bachelorette parties so that you have the entire wedding week covered. The collection seems to have broken a few conventional rules by introducing pastel dresses, Bohemian gowns and lace jumpsuits.
Victoria KyriaKides
The ethereal collection takes inspiration from the superheroines from the Marvel. The designer says that the intricate botanical lacework, sequinned embellishments, strands of pearls and Swarovski crystal sequins reflect the feminine side, the made to fit contoured silhouettes shows the strength, boldness and confidence of the Marvel characters.
