Named after former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, these awards started in 1957 to represent courage, integrity and idealism. Every year, individuals or organisations in Asia who manifest selfless service and transformative influence are honoured.
In a time when TV journalism is losing its credibility, journalists like Ravish Kumar are the voice of reason. The 44 year-old journalist has joined the list with other notable Indian winners like RK Laxman, P Sainath, Arun Shourie and Kiran Bedi.
