Mumbai has been gearing up to welcome something exceptional, and its landing in Goregaon. On 12th December 2025, Bodega 39 is openingits doors – the neighbourhood’s first proper upscale cocktail bar. Founded by Divya Kadam, this is 2,500 sq. ft. of space that seats 140, and it’s here to redefine what this part of the city can offer. You don’t need to default to Bandra or Juhu for a premium night out anymore.
The setup is straightforward but striking. A 20-foot glass façade that floods the place with light during the day. An alfresco area that works whether you’re there at noon or midnight. Hours run from 12 PM to 1:30 AM daily, and the space genuinely shifts in character – bright and open when the sun’s up, moody and intimate once the city lights kick in. Expect to spend around
₹2,500 for two. It’s grand without trying too hard, posh without feeling distant.
What drives Bodega 39 is the bar programme, led by Louness Ducus. The name itself comes from a playful link between bodegas and cats – curiosity, character, a bit of mischief. That spirit runs through the cocktail menu, but the real story is in the craft. Nothing here comes from cans. No added sugars, no pre-made mixers, no shortcuts. Everything’s built from fresh, premium ingredients using techniques like clarification, fat-washing, batching, sous-vide infusions.
Garnishes and flavour components are made in-house with purpose. Each drink delivers complexity, balance, and looks that match the depth of what’s in the glass.
The food programme follows the same logic. Consultant Chef Gracian D’Souza has built a modern European and Indian menu that’s designed to elevate the drinking experience, not compete with it. Dishes are clean and ingredient-driven – elevated, yes, but never overworked. Small bar bites double as shareable plates focused on texture, spice, balance. Everything’s crafted to complement the cocktails, not overshadow them. It’s food that feels fresh, considered, and perfectly aligned with what this place is actually about.
The interiors carry a certain grandeur – European elegance meets rustic charm, high ceilings, layered textures, greenery that makes the space feel alive. That massive glass façade does heavy lifting during the day, pulling in natural light that makes lunches and afternoon hangs feel positive and open. Come evening, the lighting shifts to warm, moody tones, and the whole place becomes intimate and cozy. The alfresco area moves through the same shift – breezy and calming under daylight, atmospheric and inviting once night falls.
The real vision here goes beyond just adding another venue to the neighbourhood. Divya Kadam built Bodega 39 to show that exceptional cocktails and elevated experiences don’t require crossing the city. The space adapts to your mood and the moment – offering genuinely different experiences depending on when you walk in. Whether you want a relaxed afternoon with fresh air and natural light, or a memorable night out with moody lighting and meticulously
crafted drinks, it’s built to deliver. It’s about creating a place where quality feels accessible, where luxury doesn’t feel cold, and where Goregaon finally has its own answer when people ask where to go for great cocktails.
Every component here has been shaped by people who care. Kadam brought in consultants – Chef Gracian D’Souza for food, Louness Ducus for beverages – to ensure the menu was crafted with genuine intention. From house infusions to carefully designed garnishes, from small plates to the shifting atmosphere through the day, every element reflects attention and commitment to craft. It’s a space that shows quality doesn’t need to feel exclusive, that grand doesn’t have to mean untouchable. When Bodega 39 opens this December, it’s not just launching a new venue – it’s introducing Goregaon to a completely new standard for what a cocktail bar can be, and giving the neighbourhood a destination that finally stands alongside the best Mumbai has to offer.
