Celebrity chef and judge of MasterChef Australia, George Calombaris has underpaid staff at his Melbourne restaurants. Several unions and people across Australia want him to be sacked as the judge.
Calombaris admitted and apologised about the underpayments of Australian $7.8 million to hundreds of his restaurant employees over six years. This issue came to light after an investigation was conducted by the Fair Work Ombudsman, which looks into workplace complaints. He was also fined A$200,000 as part of a contrition payment.

The hit TV show, MasterChef Australia is aware of the situation and has held meetings to discuss this issue. George who is known worldwide for his role in MasterChef Australia will now repay his 515 current and former employees.
